Hi Mark Hutchinson,

And what about /var/qmail/control/ldapserver?
change it to "127.0.0.1" and try.

Then try /var/qmail/bin/ldaplookup -m <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Paste the result.

Password is required to retrieve mails, If you have mail clients like Outlook which
sends password in cleartext format, then you need to
enable "DCLEARTEXTPASSWD" option in Makefile. I prefer to enable following
flags in my setup
LDAPFLAGS=-DQLDAP_CLUSTER -DLDAP_ESCAPE_BUG -
DCLEARTEXTPASSWD

May be try this and see result.

Else paste the exact error message.

Regards,
Santosh Pasi

that there is an option to enable clear text passwords that can be added. Could
qmail be sending the password encyrpted so authentication fails? Or are some
of my settings wrong in the files above?
