As far as I remember, include "allow bind_v2" in your slapd.conf. Check correct syntext using man slapd.conf.

Is this true?  I think that openldap probably is using v3.  If qmail-ldap can only use v2 then this might explain all of this.

I am using openldap 2.1.2 from an RPM.

Is anyone else having success with this latest version of openldap?
