Didn't mean it to be a flame. I use both linux and solaris. For linux, I have red hat (which didn't have the fts functions) and slakware. I think they're great.
What I meant by "real" was that they were licensed for the name "Unix", which implies a minimum level of API's will exist in all the licensed O/S's among other things.
