Some thoughts for the Solaris/AIX/HPUX crowd:

Bitching and moaning _might_ get something done, or it might just piss the authors off.

Explicit lists of functions that are not available and other problems is a step in the right direction. At least if gives them something to work on.

The best thing to do is send patches. After all you have access to the machine, the operating system and the documentation for your favorite flavor of UNIX. If you can't do that, how about making access to a suitable machine available for Bill and Ken. It is hard to write to a platform you don't have access to. I don't know for sure, but I'd bet the reason _you_ found the problem is that you are the first people to try it on Solaris. I certainly can't afford it...
