I'm actually looking at the /var/www/html/horde/scripts/setup.php file, to find out what can I automate (creation of conf.php, and so on). I'll be also looking forward to contribute with eGroupware. Today I'm going to install it. What do you think it's the best authentication scheme: using IMAP or using MySQL (accessing the vpopmail domain tables)? I'm going for IMAP.
Me too. I always used the default (letting horde's imp do the authentication using IMAP), for even if you look up against the database directly, webmail will then have to authenticate against IMAP in order to fetch folders or mail, so why add overhead by first going to the database and then logging in to IMAP which will end up going to the database anyway? Unless, of course, I am missing something...
Btw., I'd be interested in what you find regarding automation of horde setup. ;-)
