I use 10 cc's of natural saline. I daily apply triple action antibiotic
gel, but when the SP is first installed it will generally leak for a few
days. The type used is a 24 French. Mine was a headache for several days.
I even thought it was a mistake but it was worth it.

Gina,
How much sailing are you putting into the bulb? I used to have a problem
with the SP leaking if I put in 5 cc, but I now put in anywhere from eight
to 10 cc.

What type of catheter are you using, i.e. silicone or latex?

Hi,

I've had a SP for about 3yrs now and it is better. I get mine changed every
month the only problems I really have with mine is it leaks some but when I
get it changed it hurts some because my body heals so fast that it tries to
heal itself around the catheter and I get alot of calcium built up around
the end of it. But I am glad I did it the UTI's are alot less. And it is
great to have that area down below free... I hope it all goes well with
yours...
