Its wierd, because when I change the instrument, it doesn't change the currently playing instrument if that makes scence...

I do all of the changes for instruments in system properties, because the M-audio controllers aren't the most blind accessible instruments, but QWS handles that. Alt+Enter will get you into the properties, and then tabbing will get you to the instrument, but if you don't have a definition file loaded for your particular sound set you'll have to do it all with program numbers.

I have read the manual...
I still have to listen to the tutorials...
I have listened to the first and just started on the second...
Only reason I ask is because he seemed to change his instrument on his
keyboard...

Yes. Have you read the manual or listened to the audio tutorials yet?
Those
will answer a lot of questions, and though I know the instant
gratification
stuff is fun, it does help to really have a good idea what the program
will
do for you. It's a lot more powerful than many folks think.
