My oar:

I agree that all we can police are the regular members of the
community and that we should do so.

I advocate that we agree (place in the group 'rules', if that's what
we do) not to reply on-list to job postings. Not even for
clarification. Email the sender directly with your question and if
*they* think the answer needs wider promulgation, they can re-publish
or amend.

That's it.

I think it's pretty straightforward. It leaves us with only one email
to delete, or read, or whatever and reduces noise on the list.

It also makes us a nicer more welcoming community and I would greatly
appreciate that.
