My experience with W2K hasn't been all that pleasant. Right, it
doesn't crash the way previous versions have done. But I have had
W2K do some things -- i.e.: not letting me uninstall something;
telling me that a valid filename which used to work fine now
"<Filename> is not a valid 32-bit name'; refusing to recognize
my modem; dropping my scanners; and a few other very weird things
-- which are leaving me completely frustrated with W2K.

Right now I am back on Windows 95, "warts and all", so that I can
get something done, and am having a technician come in Tuesday to
find out just what had "gone south" with my W2K computer, which,
at the moment, is an $1,800 doorstop.

I'm almost ready to completely switch to a Mac, and use an emulator
there to run R:Base.
