Same situation here. I picked up a Redwood (taller version of a Romulus) and asked about clearances, and was told pretty much that a 32mm tire with no fenders was the maximum clearance. I was more than pleasantly surprised to find that it does indeed fit 35mm plus fenders as published by Riv.
