I have some Lake clip-in shoes that i can get hiker-weight wool socks in, though i generally switch to platform pedals in the winter. I've never been able to keep my feet warm with SPD-cleated shoes for any length of time below freezing. Still, i'll usually just wear standard sneakers/light hikers with wool socks down to the upper 20s, and winter boots much below that. Most of my winter riding is commuting within about 6-8 miles, so it's more a matter of keeping hands and face warm for me. For longer/colder rides (like last year's New Year's alleycat) I have a pair of insulated Merrills that work well; they're a little taller than most Sorel boots though the Sorels are warmer. -- Bill Connell St. Paul, MN --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
