Patrick, My experience is with their summer-weight wool cap a few years ago. It had a stiffened brim, which I discovered was cardboard. Same with the synthetic caps of a similar year. The thicker winter-weight caps appear to be different. I haven't found a winter weight cycling cap that covers my ears sufficiently, so I typically wear a wool beanie. Tom
