Yes.  The (not so) mini-vans are quite tall inside, and have a low loading 
height.  For trips, we used to rent Dodge Caravans & take out the 3rd row 
seat.  4 bikes (front wheels removed) and four riders fit comfortably.  I 
tried this a couple of years ago with the Dodge product & it seems to have 
shrunk a bit.  

Just recalled we hauled our tandem in our '99 Honda Odyssey.  3rd seat 
folded into the floor, and the second row seats spaced apart.  The tandem 
fit in between the 2nd row seats but I can't recall if the front wheel 
stayed on or not.  Inclined to think so because it was so easy to do.  
Those vans can haul a LOT of stuff.
