I have had a few people recognize it and comment "nice Riv," but I agree, from a marketing perspective.
On one group ride, someone was admiring my bike saying how lovely it was and how much thought I must have put into each detail (the "thought" would have come from Rivendell and James from Analogue Cycles; the only thing I choose was the color of the bar tape). He then said, ""Appaloosa??? I never heard of that company. Good thing it isn't a Rivendell, because that would have made it more expensive."
