It seems to be hot everywhere, Steve. According to NOAA, last month
was the hottest June on record. Worldwide "This year has had the
warmest average temperature for January-June on record - 57.5."

The low temperature last night in Tucson was 86F with relative
humidity of 42 % (5:53 a.m.). Right now its only 95 and 28%, with a
high expected of 100-103. We really have it easy, however, compared
to Phoenix where it's "only" 111F now with 20% humidity - obviously
dry (and just like a pizza oven, especially when you get into an
automobile). Their low last night was 94F. Tucson is blessed with a
higher elevation than Phoenix (2467' compared to 1132'). Phoenix also
has a "heat island" effect created by the considerable area that is
paved streets and parking lots

I spent one month in June, many years ago, at Ft. George Meade,
Maryland for special operations training with the Army. During my
short stay I took the opportunity to visit in Baltimore and went to
Washington, DC one day (climbing the Washington Monument). I
distinctly remember that it was quite humid and unpleasant during that
month...
