Vilhjalmur Stefansson, the arctic explorer, pioneered and tested a high meat, high fish, low carb diet, based on what he learned from the Inuit. In 1930 he published a study in the Journal of the American Medical Association describing how he and a colleague lived on a diet of only meat for one year.

He also had a way of traveling across country by foot in the coldest conditions: he would walk or run until he felt himself start to get overheated. Then he would lie down on the snow to rest, and sometimes even drift off to sleep. When his body cooled down enough he would naturally wake, and then get up for another stretch of activity. The key was not to allow himself to get overheated and sweaty, and that way he avoided hypothermia. Does this relate to Rivendell bicycles, or even the topic at hand? Not necessarily. Just thought I would throw it out there. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
