Hey, come on, people.
Trudy has explained, and explained again, that she didn't remove Laurie
because of any particular post. She removed him (my words, not hers; I hope
I'm understanding this) because she contacted him off-list out of concern
over the personal tenor of his post (or posts). It was because of what he
said to her off-list about his intentions that she decided to remove him.
What it comes down to, it seems to me, is this. We all, without exception
(or with no more than one exception), have a good many reasons to trust
Trudy's judgement and fairness. I don't see enough reason here to withdraw
that trust.
This is not to say anything especially bad about Laurie, except that it
sounds as if he went a bit overboard and needs to send Trudy an explanatory
post and, if he likes, authorise her to circulate it to the list. Ask him,
if he's interested, to clarify his position. That might help everyone.
Sorry but I have to go silent for a few days. Big move. California here we
come.
