Yes, and you don't seem to understand the Red Hat packaging of
the kernel.  If you take the kernel-source-i386.rpm and install
it, you get the Red Hat modified kernel source with all sorts of
things removed.  When you then write a .spec file, and make
changes to this source, and repackage it, you now have RPM
packages that are NOT based on pristine source code.

The kernel-source RPM is intended for building kernels, not for
repackaging them with RPM.  The kernel .src.rpm is the one that
contains the kernel source code.

The key phrase here is PRISTINE SOURCE CODE.  I am thinking fully
before I write thanks.

At any rate, I don't give 2 hoots about the discussion anymore
because the logic being presented is flawed and aimed at
allegedly simplifying life for 2 people by affecting
everyone.  It is entirely unlikely that it will occur, and
debatiing the issue has lost my interest.

Lets let this dead horse RIP now please.
