Well, a team apparently this dysfunctional still won 90 games. And assuming the 
front office shakes things up a bit (or
as much as can be done, given the contracts there), I don't know how much FA's 
pay attention to that kind of stuff. I
mean, there are only 3 or 4 clubs that 1) can afford to pay big bucks and 2) 
compete for play-off spots every year. I would
think that those are factors 1 and 1A to a prospective FA.

Given everything that has happened, why would any decent free agent want to 
play in Boston unless they grossly overpay for him? I think that is going to be 
the biggest issue we face in the offseason.
