You know, my brother Tom and my Dad worked at the Ritz Carlton, and I was
always a bit envious of them because I could see that working at the Ritz
Carlton meant something beyond just having a job as a waiter.

It's the same with the Red Sox.  Being a member of the Red Sox is supposed
to mean something, and if a decent free agent doesn't want to play here then
I say screw him.  We don't need him.  I want a guy who's hungry to make a
difference and restore the Red Sox so that they deserve the national
prominence they gained in the past ten years.

If there's a player who doesn't see that, who doesn't want to be a part of
the long tradition of this franchise, then I don't want him.
