Sincere apologies to Jim if I left the impression that he was engaging in character assassination. I was anticipating a more general reaction from conservative supporters of the teaching of ID in the science curriculum -- the sort of reaction that the judge himself anticipated when he predicted that opponents of his decision would try to label him a liberal activist.
