Good reasons = $$$$$$$$$

Instead of helping out the Amateur community, who on that rare occasion
does perform some valuable public service, they would just as soon gouge
everyone equally.

They just don't understand the market and good will they could generate.
How many repeater users would like to use a nice new repeater instead
of some cobbled up pile of obsolete radios ??

End of rant, I now go back to building another 902 repeater from someones
castoff radios.

BTW-Motorola and M/A-Com have similar policies. And for good reason.
