I agree, if it's a single duplexed antenna and feedline.

But in this case there were two separate antennas, each
with it's own feedline.

The receiver used a Stationmaster (or it might have been
a SuperStationmaster) on 7/8 inch Heliax, and the transmitter
used a single Jampro on 1 5/8 inch Heliax.

So the -3db that the Jampro provided did NOT affect the
receive - it had it's own separate RF environment.
