It's amazing when talking to the "techs" deploying our regional 700 MHz P25 Mother /\/\ system about the requirements for SNR, they had absolutely no understanding of the concept of C/NR and how the existing analog UHF infrastructure already suffered from poor performance - simply replicating the exact same sites with 700 MHz digital equipment was simply engineering a doomed system.
Too many times it seems the existing underlying issues of a system are overlooked or forgotten when deploying a new system directly on top of it. Oh well - my tax dollars at work... Again...
