First two sentences of said front page:

Fine, if you want to not read the whole page, which includes:

Not relevant to the question at hand.

Ditto. John was doing his own research, not asking for technical support.

If you don't have a support entitlement but are running RHEL anyway, BZ
still probably isn't the place for you, since RH is largely only going
to listen to paying customers for RHEL issues. It isn't that they don't
value other input, but they just don't have the staff to deal with
issues from non-customers.

In any case, if you have questions about RHEL, you should start with
www.redhat.com, not Google, BZ, etc.

I disagree with that. Whenever I have a software problem, I start with google, whether the software is any of the several Linux distros I care or, or my other concerns, OS X and Windows. Often, but not always, Google points me to microsoft.com for Windows problems, and apple.com for OS X. There are many excellent sites for Debian other than Debian.org, for RHEL than RH, for OS X than Apple and postfix than postfix.org.

Sometimes, particularly when researching an error message, there might only be one or two hits on the entire Internet.

It just happens I have an excellent example o such a search right here:

http://www.google.com/search?q=%22FAT%3A+Directory+bread%28block+33%29+failed%22&start=0&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=mozilla&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:unofficial

I'm running an RHEL5 clone on the relevant box.
