I've uploaded version 0.2 of the utility to 'my earlier post' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=72544&postcount=3). The changes are not required for most people, so there's no urgency in downloading it. The main change is a new option, *--truncate-input BYTES*, which allows one to force the utility to stop processing beyond a certain point in the input file. Here's why:

One of the bonus tracks on this release is the full-length version of "Even Less". When I processed that file, I found that the end was padded with zeroes -- LOTS of zeroes. In all, I think there was about 30MB of padding at the end of the file... so much so that I'm not convinced I ripped it properly, and will be trying that again! Anyway, the conversion utility doesn't expect that much null data, and spends a very long time time picking through it looking for a DTS frame. So I added an option to let me tell it to stop looking after so many bytes, and just call it a day. (And when one hits control-C to break out of the utility when it's flailing around in the padding, it now tells you how far it got, so you have a value to use for truncation.) I also added a *--version* option to tell you what you're running (either you're running what it says, or you have 0.1 if it complains about the option!). I'm now going to try ripping that bonus track again, in case SmartRipper or something else had a problem with the size of the file. If anybody has experience with ripping single DVD audio tracks of that size (supposedly longer than 14 minutes), please let me know. -- smst ------------------------------------------------------------------------ smst's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=752 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=19260 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
