Wow, that's a new slam against DRM, the laziness of a user to back up
their stuff. In these days when most OS's come with backup software
you can schedule to run at night and a 300mb+ external USB 2 hard drive
can be gotten for about $200, it amazes me folks still don't back up
their systems and valuable data. Keep it up, because from someone
whose been in the PC business for over 25 years now (yeah, I still have
my Timex Sinclair and have fond memories of my Apple //), everyone
should know by now that it's not a matter of IF your drive will fail
and you will lose everything on it, it's a matter of WHEN. Usually
shortly after the warranty runs out, they're pretty good at calculating
those MTBF's.

How many actual copyright and/or patent holders do we have in here?
I'm guessing not many. How many have music they haven't paid for? I'm
guessing at least a few. It's easy to just bang your drum, it's more
productive to find solutions.

[164kb MP3 encoded library (wish FLAC had been around when I did most of
my ripping oh so long ago) -> PC -> 100 Mb network -> SB3 -> Denon 3805
(used mainly as a pre-amp / DSP) -> Speakercraft BB1265 running
whole-house audio, rack of assorted amps, mostly older Carvers or
Sunfires -> bi-amp'd Paradigm Reference Studio 100 V.3's, CC-570,
ADP-470's, and my own make of electrostatics (hence the rack of
Amps).]
