The gain tag value may be greater than could be accomodated given the peak. That may sound silly, but things are a little more subtle. Suppose you're using digital volume control and have set an attenuation of, say -6dB. Then it is safe to apply apparently excessive gain of up to 6dB because the net result will still avoid clipping. It really is up to the playback system to avoid clipping based on the metadata which is available to it. -- cliveb Transporter -> ATC SCM100A ------------------------------------------------------------------------ cliveb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=348 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43195 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
