I don't know what I have done wrong then.  I simply substituted these 3
lines:


flc flc * *
[flac] -dcs --skip=$START$ --until=$END$ -- $FILE$ | [hdcd] |
[flac] -cs --totally-silent --compression-level-0 -

wav flc * *
[hdcd] $FILE$ | [flac] -cs --totally-silent
--compression-level-0 -

ape flc * *
[mac] $FILE$ - -d | [hdcd] | [flac] -cs --totally-silent
--compression-level-0 -


replacing the ones that were in my convert.conf.  And of course I put
the V1.85 hdcd.exe in the proper folder and restarted Squeezecenter.
