With regard to whether the on the fly method is working, I run squeezecenter on a headless clark connect box so I don't have task manager. Does clark connect have an equivalent "task manager?"
Before I tried the on the fly approach, I ripped using db poweramp with hdcd dsp/action -- this resulted in 20 bit files (according to audio properties associated with each file). These 20 bit files played fine through squeezecenter. However, when I installed the on the fly codes, these 20 bit files produced white noise. Reripping the 20 bit files to 16 bit files got rid of the white noise when played through squeezecenter with the on the fly decoding. Dbpoweramp's website says that its hdcd dsp "[a]uto detects HDCDs (20 bit High Definition Audio CDs) and decodes to 24 bit (only first 20 bits are used)." I think this is why the files are listed as 20 bit in the audio properties when the hdcd dsp is used. -- JeffG ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JeffG's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16307 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57782 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
