This is certainly not true in general (I have most of my music in folders with names that differ from the album name). Only when the information in the tags is not enough, SC uses the folder name in a kind of 'guess' mode (in SC see Settings -> Advanced -> Formatting -> Guess Tags Formats). So I think there's still something wrong or missing in the tags of the tracks.
