Looking for help. I purchased an Ipod Nano for my wife. Unfortunately had to install Itunes. Now it seems that Itunes is somehow screwing up my tags that I worked so hard & long to get right! It even seems to be messing with my replay gain. (?)
All of a sudden a lot of my tags (I think those that I imported into Itunes library) have a comment that looks like this: 00001161 00000000 000117EC 00000000 000249F0 00000000 00008000 00000000 0000273E 00000000 I did not put these comments here. I assume Itunes did. ? I mainly use Tag & Rename for my tags. When I look at these files now. A lot of the tag info is now gone. - Artist, Title, Genre, artwork, etc etc. But that comment is there! Some files still have partial tags such as the Album name. But with Funky characters before and after the actual album title. This is listed in the file view window of Tag & Rename. But when I click on these files and look at them individually, - the album name is NOT there. ??? I believe these tags are ID3v2. When I change it to view APEv2, nothing shows. I also have Mp3tag v2.40 installed. When I look at the files there, - everything shows! All the information I used to have but also that funky comment added by Itunes. The tags in Mp3tag are listed as APE tags! Can anyone help with this. Really frustrated at this point. Have changed the files in Tag & Rename (deleted comment & fixed everything else) only to have them revert to the messed up state as before.
