It's not a better experience.  I am suprised, because you are always saying 
that SbS shouldn't guess, but that is what you are asking for here.

iTunes for example displays a simple grid of data.  It will show what it has 
read from tags.  If you have 50 songs on an album with disk numbers present and 
one doesn't have a disk number, it won't assume a disk number for it.

Such logic can get complex.  You say if you have 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, then a song 
without a disk tag can be assumed to be 4/4, but that is just a guess.  There's 
no logic to go on.  What if there were 1/4 and 4/4 with several files without 
disk number tags?  And what about disk tags without total disks?

As the scanner reads tags, and then works out groupings in a subsequent 
scanning phase, this can get complex.
