OK all, Certainly a lot to learn still. Not yet the answer I look for, but there are a lot of posts I still have to see.
@RADISH: RG is one of the possible interfering options. (Riding Gain or something like that, put in the meta tags of the rip). My quest is to find a fast list of all option values to use and possibly what ripper to use. Acuraterip seems a like ly candidate. @AUBUTI: I did not use the same DAC. I won't be able to do that just now. If I buy a new DAC it must fit the system and this will be expensive. I might be able to get a digital input on my CDP dac, which I would prefer. This will also take some time. @IPHONE: FLAC and WAV should be "content equivalent". Byte wise these are very different. The processing of the different formats might put influence on the processing of the DACs and the Dig filters. This is a bit like why a bit wise copy of a CD sound different from the original. Also two original versions tend to sound different. The workings behind these heuristics we are only starting to explore yet.
