I did compare FLAC and WAV files shortly and preferred WAV. Now I want to find the settings that might have caused differences in the Transporter using the two kind of filetypes.
I will look up the specifics of ripping. This is new to me. I do find the theory most interesting and will delve into it. But I hope to put little time in practisizing and redo what many others have done. By the way I can make use the same DAC when making comparisons of a CDP vs the Transporter. BUT: only by using a cheap CDP (I have a few lying around not meant for use in my music room). The digital output of the CDP can be routed to the Transporter, or I can route the digital output of the Transporter to the simple CDP. I will think about that. Might be very worthwhile as a test.
