Is there any advantage in doing that? I gather flac calls on few
processing resources when going the other way, which might avoid
playback issues on storage units with little processing power; but
perhaps level 5 is OK for this.

EAC shows that the 8:21 second 1st track "Trio for violin, cello and
piano" by Chopin and performed by Ax, Frank and Yo-Yo Ma is 84.24MB.
After ripping to flac using level 0 Windows explorer says the file is
37.127MB or 44 percent of the original size. I shoved in another CD; EAC
shows the first track to be 32.88MB. The ripped version in flac is
14.758 as shown in XP Explorer, or 44.9 percent of the original size. In
each case I am getting the CD file size from EAC and the ripped flac
size from XP Explorer, although I also have Media Centre and it shows
the same flac file size.

This seems like more compression than I have been lead to believe ...
especially since I used the leased flac compression option.

Are these file sizes reasonable given that flac level 0 was used and
they are meant to be lossless?
