I believed Phil of course, but just to play around with this, I created
a simple directory structure on my "test" SbS running on my laptop. I
have a single artist and underneath the artist directory I simply made
two copies of a FLAC album. So the structure looks like:

c:\music\artist
c:\music\artist\album1
c:\music\artist\album2

Album 1 and Album 2 are identical (I simply copied identical Flac album
files into the two different album subdirectories). Sure enough, after
a rescan, SbS shows one artist, and then TWO albums. The album art is
the same for both albums (as it should be), and within each album I
only see the correct songs (not doubled up). These are FLAC files with
only FLAC tags (album, artist, track no, year). And again, ALL the files
in both albums have the same exact info as one album is simply a copy of
the other.
