I have to admit I was sucked into some of the cross threads myself.

With that said, my feeling is we should allow the presenter to complete
the topic, unless it is stated that it is an open discussion.  I've often
wished for thirdparty meeting moderators in the working world when a topic
has gotten heated or totally off the main subject.

I think a "I think we should give mr. foo time to finish his
presentation," from the the meeting coordinators is all that would be
needed.

I can see how it could be frustrating to have an hour to speak, and only
get 10% into your presentation.
