Yeah, I did that as well... Based on the mobs intelligence, which is based
on race.

If the mob is smart enough, it will turn it's attack on whoever is dealing
the most damage.
This is good for those people who like to use pets to tank with :)

There's a whole slew of things that can be done.

Just as a side note, this list could also enhance any intelligent mob
remembrance system you might have so that the mob would attack the
person in your group who dealt the most damage to it or the like...

Here's how I would see it working:
A linked list on each mob remembers how much damage each player has done
to
it.  When the mob regens, run through its list of attackers and subract
a
proportional amount of the regen rate from how much damage they have
done
(the damage that player did is healed over time).  Once the player's
damage
total gets to 0, meaning they caused none of the damage currently on the
mob, remove them from the mob's list of attackers.
