I have four cats, one of which sleeps on my layout. Not sure if my using Kitty 
Litter would be a good idea; what a invitation.



I would think, however, if you did use Kitty Litter, one of the dustless 
varieties would be best. The clumping type of litter might have particle sizes 
best suited for ballast but that type of litter is more expensive than the 50lb 
farm store size bags of clay litter we get.



Speaking of cats who sleep on layouts. This reminds me of one of the PRS NMRA 
Heritage cars.



NMRA Heritage collection #4 (1994). A.E. "Bud" Sima's "Prospect and Upper Ridge 
Railroad".



"The "PURR" line was named for a cat who so enjoyed strolling on the layout 
that she was listed as No. 7 on the locomotive roster. The actual prototype for 
Bud's road was the Maryland & Pennsylvania Railroad.
