Our own Roy Hoffman writes a column for "Model Railroad News", which is a
monthly
all scales mag now in mag format. It use to be a newspaper size.
Due to MAYBE available content, Roy's column is every other month.
Maybe some of those with something you might want to share can contact him at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and see how he can get you stuff in. It might be another way
of getting info out and to more then the "choir".
Unlike Model Railroader, it is more of a review type then an article or how
too, but the writers seem to do a great job. There is a really good column on
DCC for those who want to learn about this great leap for model railroading.
Just had a really in depth review of the American Model 4-8-4 Northern.
Just a thought.

Yes, More scale modelers read the big two magazines and it wouldbe most
productive to let those readers see that S is a true scalemodeling option. S
scalers should be encouraged to submit articlesthat show the same type and
quality of modeling that they show in HOand N scales. It's no harder to do it
in S scale than it is in theothers and I think a good dose of S modeling
exposure might createsome interest among the large flock of HO and N scale
readers. Whydon't the leading S manufacturers promote or support these type
ofarticles? They would seem to have the most to gain from seeing theirproducts
in the best light. Another option might be to lobby the major magazines to have
acolumn dedicated to each of the popular scales? Some kind of on-goingS content
every month might get the ball rolling? My take on theSgaugian and the Nasg
publication is they are preaching to the choirwhen it would do more good to
spread the word to a wider audience? I modeled in HO and then O for many years
before I stumbled upon anSHS PS2 hopper and then it still took quite a while
longer to realizethere was enough addition S stuff to build a layout so I'm
sure thereare many others in the same situation....dave
