Ain't that the Truth!! The biggest difference I can find between my
digital Fuji S3 (digital) and my S9000 is the more convoluted and
complex operation of the S3, and the S9000 is convoluted and complex
enough in its own right. That's what makes them "professional", I guess.

By the same token, I could have bought a boatload of my old Nikkormats
for the price, a 35-page instruction manual, and pictures the same
quality of the highest price [convoluted, complex to operate] Nikon F
of the time. Oh, yes, and they were (are) the epitome of simplicity to
operate.

Much as I yearn for "the days" however, Bob's right, digital is a
whole lot more convenient, if not practical, once you master the
learning curve, especially because you can see mistakes immediately,
not after a 300-mile trip back home.

Bob has given me invaluable advice in my choices of digital cameras,
for which I express wholehearted gratitude.

I'm still waiting to see if the Fuji's last as long as the Nikkormats,
which are still fully functional after 30+ years, though.
