    Sounds like it might be realistic to add a scale then figure out ways to 
use it later or just have it there if needed. Would a shortline usually  have 
the scale on a main or yard track that could also be used for other purposes or 
would they normally dedicate a track just to the scale? Would a shortline scale 
track have to be a double ended  track or would they sometimes install a scale 
on a spur if they didn't need to use it a lot? ..DaveBranum
