Hi all --

Cars that were overweight compared to the waybill were the apparent cause of
the runaway wreck at the bottom of Cajon pass, just outside of Colton. The
train was actually a lot heavier than advertised, and the dynamic braking
capability was matched to the lighter weight. Almost as soon as the train
tipped over the crest of the hill, it was a goner... You can bet weighing
took a much higher priority on the SP after that, and they no longer trusted
the shipper.

Have fun!

P.S. FNF for this week includes some ballast along the mainlines! Also, the
LAST spiked for direction turnout on the main was made fully operational.

... but then you can pick up some grossly overloaded cars... so
they get weighed and if overweight for the car's data, they will be sent
back to the shipper to reduce weight.
