I have been to a few TCA meets here in my area. I had visions that most of
the "O"guys there would be like those I've seen at "O" and "S" West, in their
80's. I was surprised at the number of attendees since the meets are the first
Saturday of -EVERY- month. Usually around 60 to 80 attendees and most of them
in their 40's to 60's. Most of them are in O with only a few in S. I could not
find any HO or N and only one or two into the larger stuff.

The local TTOS has several display layouts at one of the local malls. Stop
by on a Saturday and there will be a large crowd of kids there PLAYING with the
trains. That would be the S gauge layout that they can play with and not the O
gauge . I think that is because the O guys tend to keep their backs turned
towards the kids and ignore them. The O layout is also about 4 ft high and the
S is 30" high. Yes it is all Flyer, SHS and AM., no scale.

A very common question from the parents is where can I buy the S. Not at the
local hobby shop here.
