There was an HO layout near here that had a round convex (bulging outward)
mirror attached to the ceiling directly over the turntable. It was very easy
to align the rails using an ordinary motor with an ordinary power pack while
looking into the mirror which then redirected your vision straight down toward
the turntable pit. Aligning the rails was essentially the same as aligning
cross hairs when focusing a camera. Very accurate and worked like a champ at
little cost. The mirror was the same as commonly found in large drug stores
mounted on the ceilings to deter pilferage and shoplifting. If'n it worked for
HO, it should work for S. Maybe the mirror should be 36% larger??
Cheers....Ed L.
