Bob and all I would also think about trying a slight slant to the taper as well as a guard rail to help with the alignment kinda like a re railer. Haven't gotten to a turntable yet so can't try it.
Living next to the ocean and doing snow shots and others with reflections means a polarizer is a must for the outdoors shooting.
