Looking for a solution including the phone, cable from server to the phone, and the software to run on the server. I guess wireless PCMCIA cards would work in place of the cell phone with attached cable (to the server). Thought I remember someone mentioning this but not sure if it was this list or another. Too many lists .... ;-)   I guess an alternative would be to use Internet SMS gateways and only use the TAP if something major were down. Does anyone know of a way to hook up a cheap cell phone to a server to use it to send SMS messages over Cingulars network to my cell phone? I know SMS internet gateways exist, but I'm looking for a way to be notified in the event of a circuit failure, firewall failure or any other such calamity that would prohibit using an SMS gateway.   Thanks!
