If he has a static IP and decides to run his own DNS and if he owns his domain name,
he could setup Simple DNS (as I did reciently). In going to Network Solutions I
specified my own DNS server name and worked out an agreement with a company for FREE
Secondary DNS.

SimpleDNS generates the reverse ptr records automatically and is very easy to use. You
only need 1 IP to use it and simply point both your domain IP and your dns ip to the
same address.

In the case where he has a dynamic ip, that can be handled by UltraDNS rather that
SimpleDNS. And so thats why I mentioned UltraDNS, just in case.

I can send and recieve mail to AOL just fine with the Sambar SMTP/MTA's along with my
SimpleDNS.
