I just found that sfverify was made by Guillaume Morin for Savannah!

... an even simpler solution _than "grabbing an old
package of mailman"_. Sorry for the confusion. I agree to your point.
Now I really wonder how it worked at Savannah before the crack
(actually I never saw this feature working). 'sfverify' only verifies
whether a ML already existed, and I do not see any other side-effect in
the index.php script, except when it INSERTs something the
'mail_group_list' table... Go figure.
